MetaPoint CMS 7.0 Nearing Release!

MetaPoint CMS 7.0 is very near completion. Version 6.99 Beta should be available to beta testers within 30 days and after a short test period the roll out of the new 7.0 version will be released.

7.0 sports new a new blog gizmo, allowing you to create, maintain, and even allow for commenting in a blog within your Metapoint CMS website.

Work has been continuing on the architecture to try and move all gizmos into the gizmo3000 class to make creating them simpler, and to clean up specific problem areas in the source code. Additional gizmos included in MetaPoint 7.0 include a Youtube Video and Flickr Image sharing gizmo, a Google Maps gizmo, and a gizmo to facilitate the addtion of wiki pages to your sites. We have added the ability to control access to gizmos so you can provide permissions to who is allowed to see which gizmos in the add a gizmo pulldown.

Ever since the shortcut button allowed you to create duplicate content on many pages controlled by the originating gizmo users have clamored to be able to copy gizmos. Clamor no more, it will be included in 7.0.

If that wasn't enough, the branding should be completed transforming the old to the new and fresh, the installation documentation is being re-written, we're adding support for OpenID login, and the URLs your visitors will see and refer to when browsing your websites will now be friendly using page titles instead of some id number no one can remember!

This first release of the new and improved MetaPoint CMS is proving to be packed with the features and better control. Once this one is out we can't wait to see what is coming next!
